Rest of the trip

Okay... I know I'm totally delinquent but here is the rest of our fabulous trip!
4/16
We woke up early to get ready for Imperial Palace. We had to first drop off our luggage at Kyoto station and then get some delicious breakfast. Imperial Palace was wonderful... though the fact that some buildings don't really have walls/doors would really be a problem for me... I would kinda freeze to death in Kyoto... maybe not the best place for us to retire. Maybe Tokyo... where it's warmer!

After the Imperial Palace, we went to Kobe for some delicious beef! We had a teppanyaki style. They brought out a large steak and the fat was separated to flavor the vegetables and fried rice. It was like beef bacon fried rice. It was delicious! I don't think I'll ever be able to eat beef here ever again! Only the Kobe beef for me! We then went to a place in Kobe where they could create a special fragrance for you. I filled out a couple of survey questions and based on that they were supposed to figure out my fragrance. I should have known that it was a bad sign when 4 out of the 5 fragrances that they showed me, I violently disliked. However, it was too late in the process to back out. In the end, I ended up with something super strong and I disliked... biggest rip-off ever! I could have had another piece of Kobe steak or something!

Then we returned to the Kobe station to look at various cheesecake options. Kobe is known for its dairy so cheesecake is popular. Unfortunately, there were no shops that sold cheesecake individually and Hiro and I could not finish 6 cheesecakes in the several hours that it was good for... We finally found a place with a smaller-ish cheesecake, however, it was meant to be served warm and the lady upon learning that we had no access to an oven did not want to sell the cheesecake to us... biggest fail ever!

Alas, we left Kobe displeased and headed back to Tokyo. We arrived at the Hyatt hotel and they gave us a room with strong smelling cigarette smoke. They luckily had another room(an upgrade I might add) and we were certainly more comfortable! :)

We started the morning with a little workout in the gym and then had breakfast. It was assorted pastries. This time, the turnover rate seemed to be a little slower as the pastries were a little more stale than we remembered. When Hiro got to the room, his sickness caught up to him and proceeded to sleep for the next 4 hours. I, of course, was worried and suggested that we have his uncle meet us early. I made my last run at Lawson to get some supplies and we headed to Hiro's uncle's and grand-mother's place.

We ordered in for dinner, which was a very delicious udon soup. They had this awesome thing where the restaurant would drop off bowls and the next morning they would swing by to pick the dishes up. It's certainly very environmental and if they can figure out a system, which they obviously figured out, also very economical.

Last day! Hiro awoke refreshed and hungry! We had a delicious breakfast of various breads, which I now miss by the way! We hung out the house and soon we were headed to the airport! For lunch, we had curry katsu, which is curry over fried pork chops. It was delicious and all I ever needed before going on the plane! It was a fast plane ride home and now we're all caught up.

Informal Poll: Should I keep this going for Boston?
