Back to the Past Part 2

Now when we last left our fair heroine, she was in Vienna. Don't believe me? Pictures! Or rather picture!

If memory serves me correctly(who am I, stuck in Iron Chef), this was the city parliament of Vienna. We took this picture when we dropped the people off at the concert, thereby catching the perfect sunset lighting for this glorious picture. Don't let the sky fool you, those are some thunderous clouds!

The next day, we went to Schonbrunn Palace where supposedly Barbara Streisand held a concert. Except... it was rained out, but all of the setup was still there will resulted in ugly photos... damn you Barbara Streisand! Don't you know about Chinese tourists and their irresistible urge to take pictures, and now you're gone and ruined it all.

Oh wait... we can take it from the back of the palace. Take that F
unny Face! Except... we were foiled... we're the four lined up dots in front of the palace. If you squint, you can make out... our clothes... The palace was very impressive and there was a giant throne-bed where the Empress ruled. Apparently, back in the olden days, Empresses and queens had to give birth with a public audience to ensure that no one tries to switch a daughter out for a son. Well... isn't that... awkward and uncomfortable for all. Except, this empress did give birth to 16 children, so maybe she's used to it by then.

My god... I'm looking at the picture again and we're just a blob! I don't think you can make out 4 distinct bodies... oh well

After that, we headed to downtown Vienna to do some shopping. I think in one block, I saw 2 H&Ms... count them 2! Why anyone would need that many H&Ms is beyond me. Hiro and Sam would be very excited. We also tried the original Sacher Torte. Now, they call this the most delicious chocolate cake and I would have to respectfully disagree. The cake was dry and dense. Now to be fair, I saw online somewhere that says it's supposed to be dry. Why in the world would you ever create a dry cake? dry!? It's like competing for who has the most burnt cookies! it's just wrong. On top of the dry cake, they covered it with a thick and sweet chocolate fondant. Sadly, it was jus
t pretty and not edible at all. My snobbery snubs this cake! However, I will still show you the photo:

We left Vienna and headed for Italy. Before I leave, I have to marvel at the wonder that is European junk food. They have chips that are in the shape of teddy bears. That's right... you heard me... teddy bears. And they were delicious too. I ate them with joy and felt a little bad that I was eating my beloved bears. Oh well... football season hasn't started yet!

Tomorrow's preview: Venice!
