On Saturday, we began the drive to Providence, Rhode Island. We got to our hotel only to find that the parking is horrendously expensive. We had to modify our plans a little to go eat lunch at Naragansett. It was a cute little beach town with plenty of lobster. We had a 1 pound lobster for lunch with some clear clam chowder and some stuffed scallops. Sadly, I have no photos to show since I totally left the camera in the car. Oh well... we'll have to get some lobsters in Boston to take pictures of to document the fact that yes, we did indeed eat lobster!
When we got back to Providence, we walked around the town. We saw Brown and realized that their mascot was also Bears! I had to take my obligatory picture with a bear before we walked to a diner for dinner. We saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and had great hopes for it. Unfortunately, with their success, they scaled back the hours and were no longer open for dinner. BOO! Luckily, there was some sort of festival that we could go to where we bought some delicious chicken wrap and some okay grilled pizza. The grilled pizza was a little too charred for my tastes. We saw mini bonfires that were set up in the river and it took them forever to get everything lit... for those of you who are Cal Alums, I had to suppress my desire to chant "Freshmen more wood!".
On Sunday, we found another place that was recommended by Food Network except they had no mentions of when they start serving lunch menu. (Both the lunch menu and breakfast menu were presented to us) Unfortunately, we need not have the lobster salad that we so desired, but had plenty of breakfast foods. Everything was fine except for the pancakes... it was the toughest thing ever! We came back to Boston and made another Target trip before we got home and assembled even more Ikea furniture.
Today, we're just waiting for our boxes to arrive. I wish it would happen soon! I have things to do! People to see! IDs to acquire!
