I went to visit my maternal grand-mother today. She is 81 years old and lives with my uncle. However, she is pretty much your typical grand-mother. She tried to buy me clothes. It's not that I'm not appreciative... it's just that she and I have different tastes... I'd imagine that it's similar to when people receive Christmas sweaters from their grandparents. I've never had that happen to me... just lots of clothes that have lots of flowers on them.
In other interesting news, I noticed that on every road intersection, there is a camera that films that goings on of that intersection. One can imagine that the camera is incredibly handy when something bad happens... I'm sure that police loves the cameras as they don't have to depend on eye-witnesses, they can see everything for themselves! However, there is a question of whether it imposes on the civil liberties of the Taiwanese citizens. The cameras everywhere is really no different from prison where almost every minute of your life is watched. I can't really decide which side I support... the impending sleepiness from the jetlag is also not helping my analytical skills.
Finally... I permed my hair! It's curly and I had to get hair styling products for the first time in my life.. we'll see how long I can last on the maintenance!
